2006, a record year in the life of Karen Leonardi. She moved from her long standing career with Intermountain Health Care – now Select Health- and delved into the life of an independent Insurance and Employee Benefits Consultant. In 2005 she found herself partnering with the well established and respected Fringe Benefits Analysts. Her partnership with Scott Deru quickly turned into a working relationship of mutual respect. Since that fateful April Day, Karen’s adventure has yet to slow down.
Karen licensed under her own corporate name: Leonardi Benefit Design, Inc., and has contracted as the benefits advisor for several local companies. She continues to round out her client listing and works with individuals and small employers, as well as in the large employer group and national arenas.
Having devoted the last 18 years of her career to the insurance industry, she enjoys the challenge of the health care markets and also provides services in the life, disability and dental markets. Her unique perspective from the Health Carrier side has made her a decisive advocate for each of her clients.
Throughout her career she has developed many strong relationships in northern Utah and has been actively involved in the Ogden community and with the Ogden Weber Chamber. She has served as the Chair of Women in Business and is grateful to many of the Chamber members for their support during her entrepreneurial start up. She currently serves on the Chamber Board and as a “Spiker”, as well as various community boards and committees.
Karen lives in Weber County with her husband John and two very active children.
